Leading Mission-Critical Electrical Contractor

A fast-growing electrical contractor is scaling its data center commissioning practice across some of the most active hyperscale markets in the US. Known for turnkey critical electrical delivery on large-scale builds, they're hiring Commissioning Managers to own end-to-end Cx delivery, build a scalable programme, and be the primary commissioning authority for major clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Own and lead all commissioning phases (Level 1-5) on mission-critical data center electrical projects - from planning and scheduling through to contract-compliant system turnover

  • Establish a scalable commissioning programme including SOPs, document control workflows, templates, and protocols tailored to mission-critical delivery

  • Act as team leader for Load Bank and Energisation activities - coordinating pre-planning, execution, and documentation with internal and external stakeholders

  • Serve as the primary commissioning point of contact for clients, engineers, GCs, and vendors - running progress meetings and owning all commissioning communications

  • Review electrical and mechanical designs for commissioning impact; develop and execute pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems test plans

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing commissioning team of internal staff and third-party agents

  • Ensure commissioning documentation - checklists, redlines, test scripts, issue logs, deficiency tracking, and close-out reports is complete and delivered per contract

  • Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and feed improvements back into updated commissioning standards and training

What you'll need

  • 5+ years of recent, hands-on data center commissioning experience with demonstrated leadership across Levels 1-5

  • That experience must have been gained working for an electrical contractor - candidates from design, operations, or vendor backgrounds will not be considered

  • Deep technical knowledge of data center electrical systems - UPS, switchgear, switchboards, PDUs, generators, ATS, transfer schemes, BESS, and integrated controls

  • Proven track record leading load bank testing, energisation sequences, and high-voltage commissioning on large-scale projects

  • Strong document control, scheduling, and client-facing communication skills

  • Proficiency with commissioning software, MS Office, and document control systems

Bonus if you have

  • CxA or equivalent commissioning certification

  • Electrical or engineering licence

  • Experience across multiple hyperscale or 100MW+ data center programmes

  • Crossover familiarity with mechanical systems and integrated MEP commissioning
