A well-established, nationally recognised commissioning and QA/QC firm is expanding its data center practice to meet surging hyperscale demand. This is a hands-on technical leadership role at the heart of a major active project - with a growing national programme and real progression behind it.
What you'll be doing
Lead all electrical commissioning activities across a major hyperscale data center project from L2 through systems acceptance
Execute and oversee testing and verification of electrical systems including switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs, and associated controls
Review electrical commissioning procedures, test scripts, and documentation for accuracy and completeness
Coordinate electrical scope with the Cx PM, other discipline leads, subcontractors, and the client team
Identify, log, and drive resolution of electrical deficiencies and punch list items
Ensure all electrical systems are commissioned in line with project specifications, design intent, and client requirements
Mentor field technicians and junior electrical staff on-site
Support the broader commissioning programme - contributing to a national data center practice that's actively being built out
What you'll need
5+ years of recent, hands-on data center commissioning experience in an electrical lead or senior field role
Background from a commissioning agency, general contractor, or data center owner/developer - you've led electrical Cx scope, not just supported it
Deep working knowledge of data center electrical systems - medium voltage, LV distribution, UPS, backup generation, and EPMS/BMS integration
Strong grasp of commissioning documentation, test procedures, and issue tracking on complex, live projects
Based in, or able to relocate to, San Jose, CA or Atlanta, GA
Comfortable with full-time on-site commitments (current project runs through mid-2027)
Bonus if you have
Crossover familiarity with mechanical systems and MEP coordination
Experience on hyperscale or large campus data center builds
Exposure to L0-L5 commissioning workflows across multiple projects or clients

$4,750/month per diem on project, plus $800/month travel home allowance
