Global MEP Consulting & Commissioning Firm
A globally recognised MEP consulting and commissioning firm with a strong and growing critical facilities practice is looking for a Senior Electrical Commissioning Agent with deep data center expertise. This is a technically demanding, client-facing role - working across hyperscale and mission-critical builds with a firm that invests seriously in its people, its tools, and the quality of its work.
What you'll be doing
Lead and execute electrical commissioning activities on data center projects - covering MV/LV power distribution, UPS, generators, ATS, PDUs, switchgear, protective relays, and grounding systems
Develop and execute functional performance test procedures, commissioning plans, and integrated systems test protocols tailored to mission-critical environments
Perform hands-on field testing using PQMs, IR cameras, multimeters, clamp meters, circuit analysers, and load banks
Review electrical design documents, submittals, and shop drawings for commissioning compliance - identifying issues before they become site problems
Identify deficiencies, troubleshoot system performance issues, and collaborate with contractors and design teams to drive resolution
Produce commissioning reports, test documentation, issue logs, and close-out packages to a consistently high standard
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and field technicians on data center Cx best practices
Contribute to the development of commissioning standards, procedures, and best practices across the firm's critical facilities practice
What you'll need
10-12+ years of hands-on electrical commissioning experience, with a significant portion in data center or mission-critical facilities - this is the core requirement
Strong understanding of NETA testing principles and familiarity with NETA ATS/MTS procedures in a data center context
Proven field testing experience across data center electrical systems - UPS, backup generation, ATS, MV/LV distribution, BMS/EPMS integration
Proficiency with PQMs, IR cameras, multimeters, and standard diagnostic tools
Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NETA, IEEE, and related standards
Strong client-facing communication, troubleshooting, and technical report-writing skills
Based within commuting distance of one of the listed office locations - this is a requirement
Bonus if you have
SKM, Arc Flash, and short-circuit study experience - highly valued for this role
Experience with power system modelling
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Background spanning both commissioning agency and consulting environments
What's in it for you
$116,000-$198,000 base salary (varies by location and experience)
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and supplemental insurance
401(k) with a generous employer match
Competitive PTO policy
Half-day work-from-home Fridays - year round
Transit and parking employer stipend
Professional development courses and incentive bonuses
Dynamic Employee Resource Groups and an inclusive, collaborative culture
A global firm with a serious critical facilities portfolio - the kind of projects that define careers
